One way to hang an awkward pendant that doesn't involve findings such as jump rings is to loop through (for want of a better way to explain it). It takes three easy steps. This will work with the majority of pendants and awkward shaped beads

|
Step 1.
Measure the length of cord you require and fold in half. Push the looped end through the hole in the pendant. This is where you discover if you need a 1mm or 2mm cord. As when you push the loop through the pendant hole you are in effect pushing through double the width of the cord (1mm cord will produce a 2mm loop!)

|
Step 2.
Take the two ends of the cord and thread them through the loop that has been pushed through the hole in the pendant. |
|
Step 3.
Pull the loose ends of the cord up away from the loop and pendant. The loop will tighten on top of the pendant.
If it doesn't then try the steps again from Step 1.

These two pictures show you how the technique of looping through looks from either side of the pendant.
By using this technique it leaves you the option of threading more beads on to each strand. You will also be sure that the pendant will stay in the centre ofthe cord. This has it advantages and dis-advantages though. But that's for you to decide! |
