2. Q. Do you do a printed catalogue?
Answer : No, I'm sorry, at present we only have the on-line catalogue from which you can purchase out products via our shopping cart and secure server. We hope to have a catalogue in the future but one reason for not having a catalogue is due to us increasing our range of beads on a weekly basis, the catalogue would be out of date straight away! We currently have over 2500 types of beads and it's still growing. We plan to put our entire range on-line but it's just the pictures which are slowing us down.
3. Q. When I click the 'add' button nothing happens, nothing is added to my shopping cart?

7. Should I worry about the warning given on some of the packaging?
Answer : The warning given refers to Proposition 65. Something that by Calafornian law (USA) has to be printed on products that use a certain list of chemicals used in their manufacture!
The nitty gritty....
In November 1986, Californians approved an initiative (Proposition 65) to
address exposure to toxic materials. More than 750 chemicals, some of which are
naturally occurring and some synthetic, have been included in Proposition 65.
Under this law, businesses are required to provide a “clear and reasonable” warning before knowingly or intentionally exposing anyone to a listed chemical. All companies that sell products in the State of California are required to comply with Proposition 65 labeling. It doesn’t matter how much or how little of a substance exists in any product: if it has any at all, or may contain any, it must be labeled with this warning.
Proposition 65 is not a requirement of any other state, and it is NOT a mandate of the United States Government or any of its departments. Because Beadalon cannot control the final destination of our products, we voluntarily apply warning labels to the products that fall under Proposition 65 in the event they are purchased in California.
The Specifics
The two chemicals that some Beadalon products contain are Nickel and/or Lead. Many of the plated findings sold by Beadalon and other jewelry companies contain either a Nickel flash prior to being plated with Silver or Gold, or are plated Nickel. Nickel plating can also be referred to as imitation Rhodium. Some base metal findings made of Brass may contain minute amounts of Lead. In some cases, minute amounts of Lead have been found in handles of tools.
Customers concerned about these chemicals may take steps to reduce exposure to them. Limit the use of Nickel-plated items, replace Gold-plated and Silver-plated findings when the plating has worn off, and wash hands after using any tool. Avoid ingestion of these and any Beadalon products.
The Proposition 65 list is updated at least once a year. For specific information on Proposition 65, please go to www.oehha.org/prop65.html |
